Media Center Policies 

Library Hours

8:15a.m. – 3:00p.m.

8:15a.m. – 8:35a.m. Library is open for book check out and AR testing (Students accompanied by a parent may enter at 8:00a.m.).

Students will attend classes in the Media Center to enrich classroom studies.

Students may visit the media center in small groups for check out or research with the permission of the teacher and media specialist.

Book Checkout

Books are checked out for 7 days. Chapter books may be renewed if the student is making an effort to complete the book.

Kindergarten and first grade students will check out one book at a time.

Second grade through fifth grade students will check out two books/magazines. 

Students may access a variety of on-line reference sites through

Fines/Overdue Books

Students with overdue books may not check out a new book until they have returned their overdue material.

Overdue notices will be sent on a regular basis to the classroom teachers as a reminder to students. 

The replacement cost of a book will be charged for a lost or destroyed book. Parents will be notified of the replacement cost of the book. 

A paid library fine becomes non-refundable after ninety days.

All library books will be due May 17 for inventory purposes.

Accelerated Reader

AR is an incentive program to encourage reading and test comprehension. It is an individual assessment and should be treated as any test, taken without help from friends or family.
